The addressable LEDs I have been trying to get to work are finally working. The bug that I was having was based on the fact that AndyMark’s example code suggested to use pins 11 and 13 on the arduino, but it turns out those are reserved for ethernet, and therefore should never be used (thanks AndyMark). Anyway, I moved the pins over and that solved the issue.
In the future, they could be used like the LEDs last year to help software debug the robot while in the stands, and, yes, they could (and will) feature a better version of RainbowDanceParty. Should be exciting to see what we can get done with these.
