Storm Position: Mentor
Years of Leadership: 2012-
Bio:” This is my third year as a Storm mentor. I tend to gravitate towards mentoring mechanical students working on the secondary – high risk functions of the robot. One day our stuff will actually make it onto a competition version of the robot … one day. As a Mentor, I share with the students my experiences as a Robotics S&T Engineer for NAVAIR in Lakehurst, NJ. I like to emphasize that many of the skills they acquire through FIRST are the same skills that I utilize everyday developing robotic solutions for the Navy. Also, having spent 12 years at Drexel University acquiring a BS,MS,and PhD in Mechanical Engineering, I enjoy sharing my thoughts on the joys and challenges of an undergraduate and graduate education as well as great recipes for Ramen Noodles (add Sriracha and you are good to go).”
