Welcome to the Storm Robotics Team Wikipedia!

Storm Robotics is a family of teams - FRC 2729, Storm Robotics; FTC 4390, the Typhoons; and FTC 7433, the Cyclones.

About

Storm Robotics is a family of teams based out of Cherokee and Lenape High Schools, located in the Lenape Regional High School District in southern New Jersey. Storm is a member of the organization For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST), and seeks to promote STEM to its own members and to the community at large. Storm prides itself on doing a great deal of outreach in the local community, and having a great deal of fun all the while!

Mission Statement

Storm Robotics aims to instill in the students of Lenape and Cherokee High Schools a lifelong appreciation for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Team members learn to value these fields with integrity, commitment, and hard work. This is made possible by the close partnership between Lenape and Cherokee High Schools, Lockheed Martin, and the surrounding community.

History

Our family of teams originally began with the foundation of FRC 2729, Storm Robotics in September 2008 by Nathan Knauss and James Hessler, teachers from Cherokee and Lenape High Schools in Marlton and Medford New Jersey.

Storm was originally part of the Iron Devils Robotics Team, FRC 1647; however, because Team 1647 grew so large, Storm Robotics branched off to form its own program, with students from both Lenape and Cherokee High Schools. The decision to split the Lenape Regional High School District into two separate teams was to insure that each student would have an equally rewarding experience with both their teams and within FIRST as a whole.

FTC

FTC Storm Robotics contains two teams, 4390, and 7433. It is mostly comprised of freshmen and sophomores, but, there are some first year juniors as well.
